Pop-up shops are becoming a growing trend with celebrities nowadays. Future took time out of his Summer 16 tour with Drake to open a pop-up shop for his exclusive merchandise last week in New York. Now, the latest celebrity to jump on the merchandising bandwagon is music mogul, Birdman. Recently, the New Orleans-born rapper Birdman announced that he will be opening a pop-up shop in New York. The shop will be open for business this coming Friday, August 19th. Birdman has teamed up with merchandise giant Bravado as well as New York retailer VFiles.
Birdman’s pop-up shop will feature two items exclusive to VFiles along with new Cash Money merchandise. The pop-up shop will be located at the VFiles location in SoHo, on 12 Mercer Street in New York. The shop will only be open for one day between the hours of 11am to 6pm. Birdman and artists from the current Cash Money Records roster will be making appearances throughout the day.
Birdman is scheduled to make his grand entrance around 4:30pm that afternoon. Birdman will also participate in a live interview with VFiles while he is there. If you don’t get a chance to catch a glimpse of Birdman, you can catch the entire interview on the VFiles website. Birdman has yet to reveal his new vintage inspired streetwear clothing line or the exclusive items he has created with VFiles. Rumor has it that the clothing will feature old graphics from the Cash Money brand. I wonder if any of the designs will include any “Respek” shirts.
I’m sure whatever he designed will be a huge hit with the Cash Money fans. So, what are your thoughts? Are you feeling all these artists following the pop-up shop trend? Who do you think will be the next artist to dabble with a pop-up shop? Let me know in the comments.
