Looks like Caitlyn Jenner doesn’t have the same TV magic as the Kardashian clan. Recently, it was announced that Caitlyn’s reality show “I Am Cait” won’t live to see a third season. The docuseries followed the formerly known Olympic Medalist, Bruce Jenner, as she embraced her new life as Caitlyn.
The show chronicled the changes Caitlyn experienced in her relationships with her family and friends. It also documented how Caitlyn handled and embraced her new position of being a role model in the Transgender community. Caitlyn broke the news of the show’s cancellation to her fans via Twitter. Caitlyn stated,
“After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!”
According to an E! Spokesperson:
“We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of ‘I Am Cait,’ a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles, and triumphs. Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’”
Season 1 of the show debuted on July 26, 2015, and it started off with a bang. The first episode of “I Am Cait” had 2.7 million viewers. Unfortunately, the ratings fairy flew the coop during the second season. The second season of “I Am Cait” saw a drastic loss in viewer ratings. Season 2 of the show also had the lowest rated episode which brought in only 480,000 viewers.
Just because Caitlyn’s show has been canceled doesn’t mean that she is down for the count. Caitlyn will appear on Amazon’s award winning show “Transparent”, and Caitlyn will make more appearances on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” as well.
So, what are your thoughts? Are you sad to see “I Am Cait” go? Let me know in the comments.
