This is simply not the best week for Chris Brown. Realistically many of us want to see Chris win and succeed however, Murphy’s Law has been rearing its ugly head this past week and its refusing to let that man be great!
According to several media outlets, the singer and actor just lost out on the opportunity to star in a recurring role in the hit Starz television show “Power” all because of his ‘bad boy’ rep. The singer was said to have found out that he didn’t get the role that was promised to him by show creator and actor, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, who is also one of the executive producers on the show, just before the alleged incident with Baylee Curran and lost the role as a result.
Sources say that 50 guaranteed the singer (who is also a personal friend of his) that he would get a major role on the show, but because 50 didn’t run the idea by the other executives, his plans were halted and put to a stop. A close reveals:
50 promised Chris a big role on ‘Power,’ playing a drug dealer. But 50 didn’t consult the network first, and execs were not happy when they found out about it. The network insisted that Chris’ casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues. There was a big blowup, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid.
Despite the reports of Chris not getting the inital role on the show, 50 Cent is adamant that he will get the singer on the show.
I am all for Chris Brown joining the cast of ‘Power’ whether he plays himself and performs at Ghost’s club or whether he winds up playing some drug dealing gangster teaming up with Kanan. As a fan of Chris’ despite his mishaps and flaws, I really do want to see him win because I know he’s looking at the bigger picture and his bigger picture includes his daughter, Royalty!
What do you guys think of the network not wanting Chris to appear on the show? Sound off below because it’s time for #OpinionHour!
