Happy Monday lovelies!
Move over Aldis Hodge and Lance Gross, there’s another gorgeously hot chocolate man vying for our hearts. Kofi Siriboe, of OWN’s brand new show “Queen Sugar” is our #CelebrityCrush for this week and he’s actually been coming for our hearts for a while now.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Kofi Siriboe is of Ghanian descent. His brothers Kwame Boateng and Kwesi Boakye are also actors who have had starring and voice over roles in films such as “I Can Do Bad All By Myself”, “The Amazing World of Gumball”, “Special Agent Oso” and “Murder in the First”.
Kofi’s film debut came with the 2008 comedy drama “The Longshots” which starred Keke Palmer and Ice Cube. In 2011, Kofi followed that up with a role in “Prom”, “Whiplash” in 2014 and “Straight Outta Compton” the following year. Outside of acting, Kofi has worked as a model under the umbrella of Wilhelmina Models, one of the top modeling agencies in the game and we can defintitely see why Wilhelmina signed Kofi. He has a tall and slender built with smooth mocha colored skin and an award-winning smile. Seriously Colgate, give that man an endorsement deal.
If you’re wondering why Kofi looks so familiar, it is because he’s been getting major attention due to his new starring role on the brand new OWN show “Queen Sugar” where he plays the role of Ralph Angel Bordelon. The Avan Duvernay created, directed and executive produced series follows the life of three siblings: two sisters, Nova Bordelon (played by Rutina Wesley), a formidable journalist and activist from New Orleans, and Charley Bordelon (Dawn Lyen-Gardner), a modern woman, who, with her teenage son Micah, leaves her upscale home in Los Angeles and moves to the heart of Louisiana to claim an inheritance from her recently departed father – an 800-acre sugarcane farm, and their brother Ralph Angel (played by Kofi) a single father struggling with unemployment and an absentee, former drug addict mother of his child.
So far, Queen Sugar has gotten off to an AMAZING start and the positive reviews just keep rolling in. In 2017, we can catch Kofi Siriboe in the film “Girl Trip” which will star Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as our former #CelebrityCrush Mike Colter. Congrats Kofi!
Does Kofi have a new fan in you?
