Ladies, grab a napkin because it’s about to be another hot Monday and trust and believe I came through for you this week with #CelebrityCrush. If you grew up sneaking to catch the afternoon soaps or ‘Smallville’ was one of your favorite programs a few years back then today’s hunk is no stranger to you. Hollywood hunk Justin Hartley is our #ManCrush for today and let’s be real, why wouldn’t he be?
Justin Hartley first stole our hearts in 2002 when he first appeared in the NBC daytime soap opera “Passions” portraying the character Fox Crane, the wealthy son of ruthless billionaire Alistair Ephriam Crane – a role Justin portrayed until 2007. Hartley followed his “Passions” fame up with a seven-episode run on the CW hit show “Smallville” portraying the billionaire Oliver Queen who lives a secret life as the Green Arrow. In 2008, he came back to Smallville and became a regular cast member.
In 2014, Justin Hartley came back to his soap opera roots and began playing the role of Adam Newman on the CBS daytime soap opera “The Young and The Restless”, a role he played until about a month ago. Confirming his departure from the series, Hartley penned an open letter to his fans.
“After many weeks of having to keep quiet in order not to spoil storylines for all of you, the time has finally come that I’m able to write you this letter. Although I am saying goodbye to Y&R, this is not a goodbye letter. I felt it was more important to write a thank you note. Each and every one of you helped make my time on the show enjoyable. I always loved hearing about how excited all of you were for certain characters, how disgusted you were with others, at times even mine, or how we were able to help you escape from a hectic day. You are some of the most loyal and dedicated fans I’ve ever encountered. You are truly the heart of the show. It simply does not work without you. I wanted to thank you for that. Thank you for tuning in; thank you for letting me entertain you; thanks for entertaining me, and thank you for caring.”
Many fans (including myself) were taken aback with Justin’s departure from Y&R but we quickly cheered up when we realized Justin wasn’t done with TV. To date, he holds a starring role in the newly greenlit series “This is Us” set to debut tomorrow (9.20.2016) on the CBS network. Not much detail has been given on the show except that the premise states it will tell the story of people born on the same day. Justin will star as Kevin alongside actors Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chris Sullivan and Chrissy Metz.
And did we forget to mention how much of a sex symbol that man is? It’s obvious he hits the gym on a regular because you don’t get a physique like that by sitting around eating cheeseburgers and chips all day. Justin Hartley, we swoon like crazy over you.
Wouldn’t you all agree?
