Gabrielle Union (@itsgabrielleu) & Others Join Alicia Keys (@aliciakeys) No Makeup Movement

For many women and teen girls it is a must to leave the house with a beat face. A well-made face provides a boost in confidence and in many ways completes a look. Alicia Keys wants women to feel that boost of confidence with or without makeup. She has started a no makeup movement. In a heartfelt letter, Keys vowed to go makeup free every day, including on the red carpet and television. Keys is gaining supporters on her barefaced journey. Gabrielle Union, Today’s Tamron Hall and even Kim Kardashian are now on board.

Keys appeared on the Today Show to talk about why she stopped wearing makeup and her new music. During the interview, Hall was so inspired by Keys’ decision to go without makeup that she decided to join the liberating experience. It was such a freeing experience that co-anchors Billy Bush and Al Roker joined in.

Gabrielle Union jumped on the bandwagon as well. She posted a photo on Snapchat makeup free and gave a shout out to Alicia. That was not the first time Union decided to go barefaced. She has post several makeup free photos on social media.

Over the weekend, Kardashian attended the Balenciaga fashion show in Paris without any makeup. And surprisingly, her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, stated it’s a look he hopes will stay around. He told PeopleStyle that social media and Youtube has been flooded with pictures of heavy makeup and many people have grown tired of the trend. He believes softer looks will start trending more.

Gwyneth Paltrow uploaded a barefaced shot of herself on her 44th birthday and Cameron Diaz took a break from makeup earlier this year. The no-makeup movement doesn’t seem like a phase and is promoting a vital message to young girls and women that you don’t need makeup to exude confidence and display beauty. Makeup should be seen as an option not a necessity.
