Erykah Badu (@fatbellybella) Returns As of Host Soul Train Music Awards: Drake (@Drake) Nominated 13 Times

It’s been a good year for Drake. His album, Views, reached platinum status, produced several hits, set records, and garnered 13 nominations at the American Music Awards. The good news doesn’t stop there; he has also been nominated for 12 Soul Train Awards including two in the Video of the Year category.

Beyoncé is also a major contender with nominations, including Album/Mixtape of the Year and Video of the Year. DJ Khaled, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Usher are set to be honored. Two of the biggest honorees of the night will be Teddy Riley, the creator of New Jack Swing, will receive this year’s Legend Award. Brandy will take home the second-ever Lady of Soul award proceeding Jill Scott.

brandyErykah Badu made such a lasting impression last year as the host of the award show that she will return to host the show again this year. She is sure to please the crowd with her unique way of doing things, her unforgettable style, and effortless wittiness.

This year’s Soul Train Awards will be a three-night event from November 3rd -6th with a star-studded lineup (Tyrese, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan), including an all-star comedy lineup featuring BET’s “The Comedy Get Down.” Soul Train awards will take place in Orleans Arena in Las Vegas November 6th and will air on BET and Centric November 27th at 8 p.m. ET.
