Raven Symone announced on ABC’s The View, which she joined as a co-host in June 2015, that she will be leaving the show to start the new spin-off series of her very popular ‘That’s So Raven’ sitcom that was a hit on Disney Channel from 2003-2007.

“I’m excited and sad, but mostly excited,” Raven said on The View.

If you remember ‘That’s So Raven,’ then you remember Raven Symone played ‘Raven Baxter,’ who was a teenager who lived with her mom, dad and little brother, and would suddenly have psychic “visions” of the future throughout her day to day life.

During her announcement on The View, Symone shared a few details on the new spin-off series on Disney Channel.

“It’s still me,” said Symone. “I’m a mother this time, a single mother raising two kids, and one is going to learn that she has visions.”

Raven will not only be starring on the show, but she will also be an executive producer! She will be relocating from New York City to Los Angeles, where the show’s development and filming will take place. The new show has not been titled yet.

Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide shared his excitement about working with Raven again stating,  “Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world. Her performance in ‘That’s So Raven’ is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
