If worldwide attention is what she sought, attention is what she got. Singer Joy Villa hit the Grammy’s Red carpet and unveiled and ode to President Donald Trump in a dress reading “Make America Great Again”
Did you know who Joy Villa was prior to February 12, 2017? most will answer “no”, neither did I. Yet her dress and name has made headlines and she has a new flock of fans. Since her red carpet appearance her EP “I Make The Static” is climbing iTunes and Amazon charts. Put it like this, her 2014 EP has surpassed Lady Gaga’s in less than 24 hours!
Being that she was a relatively unheard of singer Joy had nothing to loose and a lot to gain for supporting Trump in this manner. Unlike singers like Chrisette Michele who received a lot of backlash for signing at his inauguration. Chrisette sat down with Pix 11 news this morning and revealed that although she sang at the inauguration she did not vote for Trump nor does she necessarily agree with his rhetoric, thus she thinks because we live in the same country we got to get together somehow.
Joy Villa’s dress was designed by Andre Soriano and this is what Joy told Fox news:
“I am 100 percent a Trump supporter. I believe in his message, I believe he will run this country like he runs his life, successfully,”. I stand as a proud American and I stand for a unified America that is tolerant of each other no matter who we voted for. I stand behind our President because that’s the American thing to do. I believe in love, above all.
Not one to be a conformist Joy has been rocking outlandish pieces to the Grammy’s for a while check out these looks from the past:
A little bit about Joy, she’s 25 years old and recently married as of Christmas Day 2016. She has multiple hustles; she professes to be a singer, songwriter, actress, vegan, certified nutritionist, personal trainer and competitive bikini body builder.
