Originality seems to be a thing of the past, especially in 2017. Nowadays innovations come few and far in between. Everything is often watered down or rebooted and repackaged. Just check out the plethora of nineties sitcom revivals! Thus when it comes to something new–and edible–we are always down for trying it out.

Prepare to get your eat–and drink on (sort of)–with Lit Ass Wings!

Lit Ass Wings is a poppin’ new wing company from the Metro Atlanta area that specializes in–and you’re going to love this–alcohol infused chicken wings!

Immediately you might think of “chicken and beer,” but you would as wrong as these wings are lit! Lit Ass Wings, however, are made from a combination of actual liquors, spices, and sauces that give the meat a tasty, but liquored flavoring! The wings come in a number of flavors; Hennessy Barbecue, Sweet Chilli Patron, Honey Jack Daniels’ Tennessee Whiskey Barbecue, Bacardi Heat, 1800 Degrees, Crown Royal Applewood Barbecue, and Hawaiian Pineapple Ciroc! YUM! Each order is served with side of potato wedges, or when in demand specialty macaroni and cheese! Darryl delivered us some Hennessy Barbecue and Sweet Chilli Patron Wings earlier this week. All we can say is we are now avid customers!

We all love ourselves some Patti LaBelle! with a career spanning over half a century, dozens of hits, and a voice that still melts hearts, we can assure you she is not going anywhere! Right now, the only thing more popular than her music, and recent tongue lashing over a heckler at her concert, are her delicious pies! Now, we have definitely had some celebrities make some amazing products, but Patti’s sweet potato pies have become something of a social media phenomenon!

All across the country people are posting pictures of themselves eating the pies at all hours of the day and night, and some even buying dozens of them! Now we gave Ms. LaBelle’s pies a taste test of our own and all we have to say is…YUM, REALLY YUMMY, and THE ABSOLUTE YUMMIEST! Now it definitely not my Nana or Grandma’s sweet potato pies, but it is a definite second! To be store bought, the pies are surprisingly creamy, and the texture of the filling is smooth and enticing. However, I personally feel they taste better slightly heated, preferably in an oven for about three to five minutes. Be sure to grab your own pie and post a pic! Kudos Patti on this delicious product! Now if we can get you a restaurant chain…Check out the funny video gone viral below!

Yesss!!! White Pizza w/ a Roasted Garlic Bechamel Sauce!

When I was in college, I was ordering a pizza from Papa John’s or Pizza Hut at least once or twice a week. Face it. Pizza’s cheap and after spending all day in class and then going to my part-time job afterward; there was no way I was going to get home and whip up something gourmet.

It got to a point though, where I really started getting tired of the delivery pizza taste. I really wanted my pizza to taste fresh (like it had just been baked in some Italian kitchen in the hottest stone pizza oven ever) so I said why not make it from scratch? Deciding to make my pizza from scratch turned out to be the one of the best ideas ever. My pizza tasted fresh and it was a lot cheaper than ordering delivery. It also gave me the opportunity to create “Sexy Pizza Club 3.14,” where a few of my girlfriends and I would make different pizza recipes alongside making cocktails and drinking wine. One of my favorite pizzas to make was my White Pizza.

BTW! The best white pizza that I have EVER had belongs to Doughboy’s in Pittsburgh. Their crust and cheese sauce is amazing! If you are ever in the Burgh check them out! They inspired my roasted garlic bechamel sauce because I truly believe that the secret to a good white pizza is in the sauce.

As American as Apple Pie!

Apple pie, America’s most iconic desert. Everyone loves apple pie. I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t love it. Not to mention,  it happens to be one of my most favorite deserts.  Not too long ago I found myself in Grand Rapids, Michigan for work. It was there that I was introduced to what I consider the best apple pie that I have ever tasted in my life.

Michigan is  a beautiful state with its beaches, coasts, and of course Lake Michigan. If you ever find yourself in Grand Rapids you should definitely make a 45 minute  drive to Saugatuck, Michigan.  They have this beautiful park called Mount Baldhead Park. There you can take 300 steps to the top of Mount Baldhead and see pretty much all of Grand Rapids. You can also take a trail down to the beach and get right on to the coast of Lake Michigan.
