War For the Planet of the Apes  is the third installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series. It follows the confrontation between the apes, led by Caesar, and the humans for control of Earth. The movie greatly depicts Caesar internal conflict for his desire to maintain peace and the instinct to defend his family from Colonel and the soldiers endless attacks. As the movie unfolds, the roles seem to reverse where the apes appear more human than the human themselves. Overall, the film is both classic and contemporary with the choice of weapons used in the film and takes the audience through an array of emotions that by the time it gets to the end, you’re guaranteed to have a swelling in your throat.

I really enjoyed the movie. I think this one is the best out of all three,” said an attendee. Skyy from Black Ink Crew had an emotional reaction to the film. “The movie is straight real but the ending, like my heart is hurting.

If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, get them now because War for the Planet of the Apes is a must see. The movie will be in theatres Friday, July 14th. In the meantime, check out the photos below from the event.

Ice Cube Hosts Fist Fight Prescreening in ATL

Several members of Atlanta’s press had the pleasure of attending the pre-screening of comedic movie, Fist Fight, starring hip hop legend Ice Cube and Horrible Bosses star, Charlie Day. The film takes place on the last day of school, where eager graduating seniors are throwing classic pranks on the faculty. The mild-mannered high school English teacher Andy Campbell (Day) is trying his best to keep his head above water through while dealing with a dysfunctional administration, and budget cuts that put jobs on the line. But things go from bad to worse when he accidentally crosses his much tougher and deeply feared colleague, Ron Strickland (Cube), who challenges Campbell to an old-fashioned throw down after school.

Though Cube and Day are the stars of the show, comedians Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell are the best supporting actors, leaving the audience in hysteria with their snarky comments, inappropriate behavior and all around hilariously funny charm. Fist Fight is definitely one to see if you’re in need of a good laugh. The lesson many can take from this movie, is when life knocks you down, you must roll with the punches and get back up.

Fist Fight debuts worldwide today, February 17th. Check out the trailer below.

Press were granted the opportunity to take photos, interview, and most importantly, wine and dine with Watson as she sat with each guest and gave a glimpse of what’s to come in the continued season.

Watson is quite the fan favorite on This Is Us but many would be surprised to know that she almost passed up on being Beth. Producers wanted to fly her out last minute to audition for the part but Watson was in a rut from a bad audition she had a few nights before and hadn’t read the script yet.

“It was my birthday and I was on my way to get facials with my friend and I asked her if we should still go get facials and she said ‘No, go home and read the script,'” Watson recalled. “So I went home, read it and immediately fell in love and called my team and said I’ll be on that plane.”

Watson plays Beth Pierson, the devoted and level headed wife of one of the Big 3, Randall and though she’s been able to keep calm in the midst of the unexpected turbulence caused by her in laws, this upcoming season will show how the chaos takes its toll on her character and we can’t wait to see it!

Be sure to catch Susan Kelechi Watson on This Is Us every Tuesday night at 10/9c on NBC.

Though he’s known for how he can handle a tattoo needle, Phor is proving to the world that he’s just as talented behind a mic.

Phor stepped on the scene as one of 9 Mag’s elite tattoo artists on VH1’s Black Ink Crew Chicago; but fans quickly learned his true passion was becoming a successful rapper in the music industry. He became a fan of music during his childhood participating in local musicals and began pursuing his dream of becoming an artist when he was 16.“I just liked how artists were able to express themselves,” Phor said. “Back then there was a lot of lyrical content and it helped me get things off my chest. Music became a diary for me.”

Phor started off in a music group but as the members grew older, the group eventually dismantled resulting in him going solo. Life experiences turned into inspiration and a blueprint for how Phor created music. Telling his life story by hand became his formula in developing his music but on his latest album, Lightning Bug, Phor has created a new way to express himself.“I go with my first mind. I trained myself enough to know how to make the proper format on how to write a song,” said Phor. “I like surprising myself and becoming a fan of my own music versus going to the studio and knowing what I’m going to say already.”
