[Event Recap] ATL Celebs Attend “War for the Planet of the Apes” Presreening

Atlantic Station was the place to be last night where local celebrities came out to attend the pre-screening of “War for the Planet of the Apes” hosted at Regal Cinemas.

Stars such as NBA star, Dwight Howard, Married to Medicine’s Dr. Heavenly Kimes and fashion model, Eva Marcille took front row seats to watch the action packed third film of the Planet of the Apes trilogy. Hot 107.9 was in the building with DJ Traci Steele and radio personality Reec Swiney in the audience while Dish Nation’s very own, Headkrack, emceed the event.

War For the Planet of the Apes  is the third installment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series. It follows the confrontation between the apes, led by Caesar, and the humans for control of Earth. The movie greatly depicts Caesar internal conflict for his desire to maintain peace and the instinct to defend his family from Colonel and the soldiers endless attacks. As the movie unfolds, the roles seem to reverse where the apes appear more human than the human themselves. Overall, the film is both classic and contemporary with the choice of weapons used in the film and takes the audience through an array of emotions that by the time it gets to the end, you’re guaranteed to have a swelling in your throat.

I really enjoyed the movie. I think this one is the best out of all three,” said an attendee. Skyy from Black Ink Crew had an emotional reaction to the film. “The movie is straight real but the ending, like my heart is hurting.

If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, get them now because War for the Planet of the Apes is a must see. The movie will be in theatres Friday, July 14th. In the meantime, check out the photos below from the event.

10 Top Tips to Help You Choose an Engagement Ring She’ll Love Forever

love engagement ring

You’ve finally decided that you are ready to ask your partner to be your wife. But, now the hard work starts!

To pull off the perfect proposal, you’re going to need to find an engagement ring that’s perfectly suited to your partner.

For many guys, choosing an engagement ring can be an overwhelming process; if you aren’t used to shopping for jewelry, then knowing what to look for can certainly be difficult. But, engagement ring shopping doesn’t have to be a chore! From where to look to how to find out what she likes, we’ve put together some top tips to help make the whole process easier on you.
Tip #1. Know What She Likes:
If you’re planning a surprise proposal, finding out what type of ring your girlfriend likes can be tricky without asking her outright. Thankfully, there are some ways to find out what type of style she goes for, without giving the game away. One of the best ways to do this is to take a peek in her jewelry box and figure out what kind of styles she tends to choose for herself. This can be one of the best indicators of the type of ring to choose; for example, if she usually wears traditional diamonds and other trending jewelry types, then a traditional, classic diamond engagement ring is probably going to be a perfect choice for her. On the other hand, if you find that she goes for unique or vintage styles, for example, then you might want to steer clear of the more generic engagement ring types and get her a unique one instead – perhaps even custom-made!
Tip #2. Know Your Budget:
When it comes to shopping for an engagement ring, you will quickly find that there’s options for all price ranges and budgets. So, whether you have a small budget or a lot to spend, you’re sure to find a ring that you can afford and that your partner will love. However, shopping for an engagement ring without a budget in mind can quickly become confusing. Not only will you struggle to narrow your choices down, you could also end up spending more money than you can afford if you find a ring that’s way over budget but you can’t say no to it. So, before you begin, have a clear idea of how much you’d like to spend – this way, you’ll only look at rings within your price range and will be less tempted to go for a more expensive option.
